Description

Finally it's done! I started this drawing last year but it was until today that I finally got to finish it. There were times I felt lazy to continue working on this drawing but I didn't want it to be another unfinished artwork.

My main focus on this drawing was the skin. It did took me long hours to draw it but I think the hair was the one that took me the most time. Anyways, the skin is the main focus here :)

Done with...

Photoshop CS2
Wacom Intuos 3
and...
A LOT of patience.

22 hours of work.

Original Size is: 3112x3492px @ 300dpi

*edit*
Someone told me to mention the following because it is somewhat important...

I did not use any special brushes or textures on this drawing. All the skin was hand drawn and it took me forever. I don't think I want to do that again!

C&C are always welcome :)

Beautiful work. It shows the amount of time you spent on this. My only thought is the hair seems a bit too detailed as I think one rarely sees each individual strand even in a photo. Only a minor point though. :)

Wow, awesome work in textures!

That is one of the sharpest, most professional looking digital paintings I have seen in a long time. The fact that you didn't use textures or brushes is even more amazing. But even though it is interesting to note that, most people wouldn't call it 'cheating' if you had used some sort of texture. In the professional realm, the only thing that seems to matter is the end result.

Still, top marks for an amazing painting. :)

Thanks Mr-EOS, ThruMyEyez, and Daykan :)

JMayer Thank you! Yeah, I don't think using textures on your work is cheating either, infact I think everyone should continue to do it. Doing something like I did takes too much time! I don't think I want to do it again unless somebody pays me lol.

I am compelled to give you my max-vote here... the degree of detail exhibited with your use of CS2 is exceptional and the texture of the skin is almost unreal! I'm not sure if there is very much more you can do to improve.... this is fantastic! (thumbup)

You actually painted those textures by hand...? I bow to thee.
But it is not only the skin and the hair thet needs mention; I notice little details, like how you used both bright and dark strokes to make the eyelashes, and how accurately the textures in the eyes are done. And the very thin lines in the skin on her shoulder... Not to mention the lips! This is realism at it's highest level.

@ DoubleConvex: Thanks you!
@ purlerose: Thanks!
@ Jane: I am glad that you liked this work. Painting the texture by hand was a pain in the neck! But I feel very happy with the autcome. Thanks for looking at my work :)
@ Jacobine: Thank you!

This is ridiculously detailed. Try creating some special brushes in the future to speed up your process. I definitely commend you on your effort, the texture work is some of the best I've seen in years.

Top marks.
