When I first saw this, I suddenly thought about Jan Van Eyck's work.. I have no idea why because its composition is no where near any of the works I have seen. Anyway~ I think it looks really cool. It fits the frame well, and the vignette kind of feel with the darks getting lost in the surrounding background brings it to life for me. Great shot.

Now that is a good portrait! It seems very human at a first glance, emits some kind of dominance that gives me some kind of "dictator" impression... and "shivers"

The picture itself is really well photographed and manipulated, perfect focus, good composition, nice choice of tone and amount of vignetting. Very well done! I have no real complaints (that does not happen too often ). The only reason I don't give it full score is that I didn't go "wow!" the first time I saw it, maybe a sign for lack of optical impact. That could be due to the lack of contrast between the upper right part of Shiver's head and the background. 6/7
